Believe it or not…
…on the subject of euphoria, this track came on the cheesy radio station I was listening to in the gym earlier today.
One word: BRILLIANT.

That was terrible. I prescribe a listen to Springsteen’s ‘Drive All Night’ as punishment.

when you say “terrible”, do you mean it in the French way, ie. “great”?

I’m with Mat on this one.

believe it or not, you’re both missing out a great genre of music if you don’t like a cheesy catchy pop song from the early Eighties…

next you’ll be telling us that you REALLY like Barry Manilow and not just in some post-modern ironic way.

Even Magic wouldn’t play this…
But the video is far worse than the song, and that’s saying something.
Actually, when I hovered my mouse over the image, it said ‘Joe’ and I thought it might be a Joe Jackson track… ah well. ;O)

believe it or not, I really like Joe Jackson too.
true, the video is bad - but then I didn’t realise it was the theme tune to an ’80s American TV show about a normal person-turned-superhero. then again, I should have been able to tell from lyrics like ‘I can’t believe what has happened to me…’, ‘Believe it or not/I’m walking on air…’ and ‘Who could it be? Believe it or not, it’s just me’. All of which are a good example of lyrics that can (a) literally accompany a TV show/film, while also (b) be meant about lurrrve, so that the song stands alone when heard separately from aforementioned TV show/film.
if you catch my drift.
and believe it or not, it’s really hard to start any sentence on this thread without ‘believe it or not’, I’m finding. although you lot are finding it very easy.
I honestly don’t get the knocking of this song, though - it’s catchy, joyous, well-written pop.
*sigh*. sometimes I feel very alone (not that I mind it when I’m alone with this song). B: this is just one of many reasons why I love you.

Believe it or not, I like Joe Jackson too! I learned to play guitar strumming along to his toons. But then it’s different for girls.
