I can sense a ‘What’s the point of cats’ type debate coming. But I’ll resist and be more sensitive. But why pick on my garden to poo in, I’d like to ask. Oops! Sorry. Here kitty kitty …
Tracy - I have two cats looking for a new home… very loving, but not happy about sharing life with a small person…obviously I don’t wish Freckle anything but good health, but do contact me via Andrea if you’re at all interested. Btw they’re not remotely teeny tiny, I’m afraid
Rachel - I fear Peter is right. see, it’s like depression: cats fight you of your resistance to cats ;-). as for the point of cats: well surely cats are like art, ie. there isn’t any real point to them, other than to make the world a more beautiful/bearable place?
they also make it a pooier place and kill most of the young birds in my garden. I still like them though

About this blog
It's over.
Ah... Do you want to know a bit more?
This blog was set up to chart my experience singing in Malaysia for two months (see below for the original 'About this blog' blurb) - and is over until the next time I do a stint in Asia, at least. At which point, I'll probably return to this page, slap a big '2' next to the words 'Lost In Transposition', and start blogging every day, all over again. In the meantime, I'll be writing weekly posts about life, the universe and jazz music over at the 'Blog' section of andreamann.com. Which is my main website, and where no pictures of my bottom exist.
My name is Andrea Mann and I'm a jazz singer and a freelance journalist. I live alone in London, England... except for February and March this year, when I'll be living in with approximately 300 other people in a hotel in Penang, Malaysia.
It's a five-star hotel with a pool, a spa and a jazz lounge. I'll be singing six nights a week in this jazz lounge, and the agent says I'll "be treated like a local celebrity". I'm imagining my experience might turn out to be a little like Lost In Translation. Hence the title. And the bottom.
This is going to be my blog about my adventures out there. I apologise in advance for making you click on my bottom to get to the homepage.
Want me to play at *your* five-star hotel? Or just want to say hello? Email me at info@andreamann.com, or leave a comment on one of these here post thingies. And a very warm 'hello' back.

Amazing!
A bit like the Father Ted thing where Father Ted is explaining to Father Dougal the difference between small and far away.

ha! true. yet this cat was both small, and close.

Bring a new cat back with you please, our puss is looking like she’s on the fast track to the great big cat basket in the sky.

awww poor Freckle. :-(. I’m sure that bringing one home wouldn’t be a problem - it could fit handily in my pocket.

She appears to have perked up today - and there was I measuring her up for the cat coffin and all.

is it a proper cat-shaped coffin or just a plastic bag?

rachel, they poo in your garden because you haven’t got a cat, I presume!
